Harberton Cricket Club is a welcoming village cricket club which only plays friendly matches against other local South Devon villages and touring teams. Our ethos is to have as much fun as possible and include everyone in the game regardless of standard, whilst playing village cricket to a reasonable, competitive, standard.
We aim to be a club for the whole community and are always on the look out for new players and people who would like to be involved with the club in any way. We support the village pub, The Church House Inn, and are proud that our beautiful ground has become a focal point for the village and an ideal place for recreation for many who live in it.
We are a team made up of strong cricketers, keen amateurs, those who are rediscovering their love of the game after a long time away and those who are very new to the game.
We also welcome non playing members who would like to get involved with any aspect of the club. Whether this is; helping with the maintenance of the ground, helping with the teas, or getting involved with some of our fund raising events over the year.
We would love to hear from you.
Club History
Founded in 1987 Harberton Cricket Club has played at various grounds over the course of its 35 years.
Much hard work turned our ground into one of the finest village cricket settings with a playing surface and pavilion to match.
We obtained lottery grant funding to build our pavilion which, with newly installed solar power, is the envy of many.
Our Team
Our team features players young and old (and somewhere in the middle!) and we play both 40 over cricket on a Sunday and 20:20 cricket on Wednesday (and some Friday) evenings.
Several of our members play good standard Devon League cricket on Saturdays and return to Harberton for friendly, competitive cricket on midweek evenings and Sundays.
